Today was lazy. I was able to force myself to go to Spitalfields Market, and opted to walk instead of take the bus. The walk was pretty nice, and it actually wasn’t too difficult. I didn’t get lost! Woohoo! I was really hungry by the time I got there, so hungry that I was to hangry to decide what to eat. I finally forced myself to purchase something from a food vendor. I got some Vietnamese Meatballs over spinach with a side of mashed sweet potatoes and a bulghar wheat salad (I think that’s what the grain was). The food was very needed. Then I walked around a bit while I waited for Keisha and James to get there.
We all explored a little, and they also got a bite to eat, but we were all so tired. So we decided to race home. Aka they took the bus and I walked to see who got back quicker. I almost beat them but due to construction on campus and the weekend some footpaths were closed. I ended up like 50 feet behind them as we approached the flat.

Today was shopping day. I did some research into more inexpensive stores, which sadly are still pretty expensive, and headed to Oxford Street, which is *the* shopping street in London. I think it may be the most profitable shopping street in the world. At any rate, I first tried Topshop, and I liked their clothes, but the prices were still to expensive for my budget. At least the fitting rooms let me take in 13 items. It was a zoo in there. Don’t go shopping on Oxford Street on the weekend.
Despite not getting anything at Topshop, I still had fun trying on all the clothes, and took a bunch of pictures. I’m trying to understand and develop my London fashion sense. Someday maybe I’ll be slightly fashionable or fit in with the locals.

After I headed to Debenham’s, which is a giant department store that Nicola actually works at. It turns out that they were having a big sale over the weekend, which made me happy.
I tried on a bunch of clothes but ended up falling in love with a designer called Dorothy Perkins. Then I went to the two story Disney Store. They had a lifesize Cinderella carriage downstairs, in addition to a bunch of statues, like one of Flynn rider. It was a dream come true, but the aisles were really narrow and winding and there were so many people scrambling around. It was very difficult to walk.
I decided to walk to Holborn station just cause, and I stopped in a grocery store on the way there to get some materials in order to cook dinner for that evening. Keisha was feeling under the weather and I wanted to make some chickpea stew for her. Sadly when I got to Holborn station there were issues with the Central line. At first I thought I was going to have to try to figure out a different way home, but then a train finally came. But it was packed. That was the most uncomfortable tube ride I’ve ever taken. We were completely squished against everyone to the point that it was a fire hazard. But I got back. Eventually.

Nicola, James, and I went shopping again today, but first we went to Brick Lane. It was within walking distance of our university,
and there were so many vendors! Nick and I explored the vintage clothes market, and she found some cute sunglasses and pants. I didn’t end up buying anything, but it was fun looking
around. At this point we were hungry, and we discovered a building which was filled with food stalls. There was every culture imaginable. They had Singaporean food, Chinese, Turkish, etc, etc, etc. I had to get the Steamed Pork Bun
After we headed to Oxford Street so that I could show Nick and James the dress I wanted to get. It turns out that Debenham’s has a 20% student discount, so it was a steal! We looked around some
more stores and both of them were my fashion mentors. It was so much fun having Nick run around finding clothes for me to try on, and giving me recommendations about what to wear with what. Because I have no clue. At. All.
I also caved in and went around the Dorothy Perkins store. A store filled with clothes I love. Someday I’ll have a job and money and have the most glorious wardrobe ever! Or I’ll just take lots of vacations to Disney theme parks.
